All young people need a caring adult in their lives. Someone who listens, believes in them and encourages them to become all they dream to be. This one-on-one relationship can become the key factor that keeps a young person engaged in school.
Could this be you?
Standing Tall in Hamilton recruits, screens and trains volunteer mentors from the local Community. Our mentors are then matched with young people from the school. Mentors commit to a minimum relationship of one year. Mentors and their young people spend an hour each week together.
One hour a week… two lives changed!
Standing Stall in Hamilton requires a commitment of one hour a week for a minimum of one year during the school term. During your one hour a week sessions, as a mentor, you will provide your matched young person with support in the areas of personal development, self esteem and life skills by sharing interests and experiences. After mentor screening, an 8 hour mandatory training session will take place before we pair you with a young person based on interests and compatibility.
