The session will be delivered at the Hamilton Golf Club on Friday 22 March from 10:30am until 2pm. Lunch will be provided (please provide dietary requirements when you send through your RSVP).

Part 2 โ€“ Accessibility in Action (what you can do!) (90 mins)

  • Accessible and neurodivergent affirming communication
  • Assumptions and how to avoid them
  • Asking questions
  • Planning delivering and reviewing work to ensure it is accessible
  • Statements of commitment โ€“ reflective practice
  • Wrap Up & Next Steps (plus where to learn more!)

In partnership with Minus18, Australia's charity improving the lives of LGBTQIA+ young people, we are hosting this FREE ONLINE WORKSHOP.

In this workshop, participants will explore LGBTQIA+ identity, the barriers students face in everyday life, and empower volunteers and staff with the tools to become inclusive leaders.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  • Key concepts and definitions of sex, gender and sexuality.
  • Evidence based barriers LGBTQIA+ students face at school and home.
  • Practical tools to support LGBTQIA+ students and staff in the classroom and throughout the whole school.
  • LGBTQIA+ lived-experiences via our expert workshop presenters as they talk about their personal journeys being LGBTQIA+.
