Mentoring Matters - Issue 2, 2026

23 June 2026

Welcome to the 2nd edition of Mentoring Matters for 2026!

This issue is filled with stories that celebrate connection, community, and the meaningful impact made when young people are supported by those around them. From recognising the incredible contribution of our volunteers during National Volunteer Week, to reflecting on the powerful conversations sparked through the Understanding Youth Forum, this term has been a strong reminder of what can be achieved when people come together with a shared purpose.

We take a look inside our Term 2 cooking program, where mentors and students shared time, conversation, and plenty of Taco Cheeseburgers. We also share an update on our early recruitment for 2027 mentors as we continue working to support more young people through the program.

As always, we are deeply grateful for the ongoing support of our volunteers, partners, schools, and community members who help make Standing Tall possible. Your involvement continues to create safe, supportive spaces where young people can grow in confidence and connection.

We hope you enjoy this edition and the impact being made throughout our community this term.

Standing Tall in Hamilton acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land and in each of the communities in which we live and work, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
